Beer festival in Ludlow will bring some cheer to miserable old February

THERE'S a beer festival in Ludlow to bring some cheer at one of the most miserable times of the year. Ludlow Brewery will be hosting its very first beer festival, with free entry, on Saturday, February 11.

Planned to coincide with Valentine’s weekend, the day’s event being dubbed Valentine Ale Massacre. It promises a new approach to romance. The first 100 women will be presented with a Valentine rose.

“We’re hoping that if this first attempt at a beer festival works, then this will become a regular annual event,” said head brewer Gary Walters. Staff at the award winning brewery have hand-picked a variety of real ales from easy drinking ‘session beers’ through to stronger stouts from breweries within the surrounding areas and a few from further afield.

Entertainment willbe provided by members of local bands ‘Hot Box’ and ‘Bring the Rope’ starting from around 1pm right through into the evening. The very popular covers band ‘Blame Kenny’ take the stage around 8.30pm to finish off the event.
