LINNEY travelled to Cleobury for their Ludlow Bowls League game. Over the last four seasons this fixture has been won 6-4 by Cleobury.
After the first four games, it was 3-1 to Cleobury. Linney’s winner was Mal Bowen, with an excellent 21-13 card.
Winning for Cleobury were Eric Mark 21-15, Norman Brookes 21-10 and Andy Pain, bowling some brilliant woods, 21-5.
The middle four games were shared, Mark Harris coming from 5-14 down to win 21-17 with some excellent woods, and Matt Bowen also having a good card for Linney, 21-16.
Winners for Cleobury were Chris Cowdale, 21-12, and Phil Pack who had a good battle with Ian Jackson. With the score 19-19 it was Pack getting the final two shots to win 21-19.
The last two games were also shared with Steve Davies coming up trumps for Linney with a hard fought battle against Gary Wooley, 21-18.
Mike Weston won the last game for Cleobury 21-17 to give them, once again, a 6-4 win and a +28 shots victory.
