Tenbury United 5 Riverway 0.

TENBURY gained their first win of the season in Division 2 of the West Midlands League when they rattled in five goals against Riverway who had won their opening two fixtures.

United looked dangerous from the start but were denied an opening goal when Ryan Morris slotted Sam Williams’ cross past the keeper - the officials pulled him up for being offside.

Chris Patten was causing problems down the right flank and midway through the first half he deceived the Riverway keeper with a cross-cum-shot.

Tenbury scored a second minutes later, with Morris having better fortune when he beat the Riverway keeper for the second time.

Riverway hit back and Alex Bright came to the rescue towards the end of the half.

New signing Rob Nosworthy replaced George Pearson in the early stages of the second half and played a part in the three second-half goals.

He started off by laying the ball into the path of Morris, who slipped the ball past the Riverway keeper to put United 3-0 up.

Nosworthy opened his own account when he used his strength to see off the challenge of two defenders and then delicately chipped the keeper from a tight angle.

He doubled his tally when he received a cross from man-of-the-match Patten and slipped the ball past the keeper.
