TENBURY Rugby Club’s opponents tomorrow, Telford Hornets, have been summoned to appear before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel next week.

It follows the abandonment of Telford’s Midlands Four West North match against Market Drayton last Saturday.

Both Hornets and Drayton have been charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union and/or the game contrary to Rule 5.12 of the RFU.

Telford have been charged with involvement in an incident which led to the referee abandoning the match.

Market Drayton have been charged with leaving the field after an incident causing the referee to abandon the match.

In addition, a Telford player has been charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union/and or game contrary to Rule 5.12 by allegedly racially abusing an opponent.

The case will be heard at the Coventry M6 Holiday Inn hotel next Tuesday (February 7) at 7.30pm. The panel will be chaired by His Honour Judge Sean Enright.
